Nickel smelter company PT Gunbuster Nickel Industry (GNI) held Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities by providing educational assistance at Alkhairaat Junior High School, Bungintimbe, East Petasia, North Morowali.
Alkhairaat Junior High School Principal Sudarmin Abdullah, S.Pd,MM expressed his appreciation to the nickel industry for the assistance provided as a form of PT GNI's contribution to support education for residents in North Morowali through books and technology.
“Representing the entire family of Alkhairaat Junior High School, Bungintimbe, I, as the school's principal, express my appreciation and gratitude to PT GNI for providing educational assistance in the form of English textbooks and dictionaries for our school. This is a tangible manifestation of PT GNI's contribution to the community through education," said Sudarmin, Tuesday (31/5/2022).
The assistance provided was in the form of 90 English textbooks, 30 latest English-Indonesian dictionaries and WiFi Orbit Max. The award is expected to increase the resources needed for students and teachers to learn and develop their knowledge of English better.
Sudarmin Abdullah hopes that this CSR activity will not only be carried out once but can become a regular activity so that the relationship and synergy between PT GNI and the surrounding community can continue to be well maintained and increase from time to time.
"We hope this program will continue to be implemented and sustainable in the future," said Sudarmin.
Meanwhile, Jerod Godwin from PT GNI revealed that this CSR activity was initiated as a form of PT GNI's concern to contribute to the community in North Morowali through education.
“GNI wants to participate in the development of school children in North Morowali. Hopefully, this program can help the surrounding community's needs for better education,” he concluded.
