North Morowali, August 17, 2025 – In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, PT Gunbuster Nickel Industry (PT GNI) organized a series of festive activities at its Morowali site on August 17. The company, operating in North Morowali, held a flag-raising ceremony along with various team-building competitions attended by hundreds of employees.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the Sang Saka Merah Putih, Indonesia’s national flag. The ceremony, attended by hundreds of employees as well as the management team, was conducted with solemnity and a strong sense of unity.
In his remarks, PT GNI Site Management Leader Li Kaiguo emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to a corporate culture founded on the values of “cultural integration, unity, and shared progress.” He expressed his hope that employees would maintain effective communication, prioritize collective interests, and collaborate to achieve the company’s goals.
“Through this event, we aim to continue fostering cultural integration, strengthening the bonds of camaraderie among employees, and establishing PT GNI as a modern company that is harmonious, resilient, and family-oriented,” he stated.
He also highlighted that Indonesia is a peace-loving nation, with a friendly and humble populace. Despite its rich diversity of cultures and traditions, the Indonesian people remain capable of living harmoniously and united—a remarkable source of national strength.
Following the flag-raising ceremony, the atmosphere shifted to one of festivity with a variety of traditional August 17 games. Hundreds of employees participated in tug-of-war, sack races, and coin-biting contests. These activities served not only as entertainment but also as a means to strengthen camaraderie among workers. The competitions were designed to encourage teamwork, strategic thinking, and effective communication—values aligned with the company’s work culture.
