In response to news circulating in both national and local media regarding issues of layoffs (termination of employment) as well as negative rumors about the condition of the Company, PT Gunbuster Nickel Industry affirms that the company consistently upholds the principles of prudence, regulatory compliance, and social responsibility in every decision-making process.

We would like to emphasize that information stating the company is at risk of “collapse” is not true. To date, the company’s operations continue to run according to the established strategic plans, with various adjustments being made to ensure business sustainability.

Decisions regarding workforce adjustments were not made without careful consideration. Prior to taking such steps, the company’s Public Relations and Human Resources teams conducted comprehensive coordination with various stakeholders, including the Manpower Office, Labor Unions, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) at the regency level, and the Police. This was done to anticipate various aspects, particularly those related to security and potential social dynamics within the community.

This workforce adjustment decision is primarily based on considerations of occupational safety, as well as the long-term continuity and stability of the company. Currently, the company is preparing for a comprehensive overhaul of furnaces that have entered a major maintenance phase. This repair process is expected to take several months and is a crucial step to ensure that future company operations will be safer, more stable, and sustainable. To maintain safety and stability in the work area, and following proper communication and agreement with employees, the company has decided to implement temporary workforce adjustments during the repair period.

We understand that this condition impacts employees. Therefore, the company has coordinated with the Manpower Office to ensure that all employee rights, including access to the Job Loss Insurance Program (JKP), can be processed in accordance with regulations through BPJS Employment.

Furthermore, the company is also committed to giving priority opportunities to affected employees with good performance to return to work once the company’s operations return to normal.

As also conveyed by the Manpower Office, this condition is a preventive measure to ensure the company can maintain its operational continuity going forward, so that it can continue to contribute economically and reopen job opportunities for the community.
