PT. Gunbuster Nickel Industry (GNI), a company engaged in the nickel industry in North Morowali Regency, has begun to carry out its social responsibility by improving roads for residents in Trans Bunta, East Petasia District, North Morowali Regency.
The construction of this road is the Company's commitment in the context to the community's welfare in the company's environment.
PT GNI Head of Public Relations Departement Mister Jiang Chao, Monday (30/5/2022), told the media that the road they are currently working on is 8 kilometers long and 6 to 8 meters wide. This Trans Bunta road is an access road for residents to the PT GNI industrial area from the Trans Sulawesi road in Bunta Village.
The purpose of the road construction is so that residents who have businesses within PT GNI and residents of Trans Bunta can have proper access. This route is also the access for PT GNI employees to the industrial area.
“This road improvement is a form of the company's commitment so that the access is comfortable to pass, especially as the company's effort to make this road free of flooding. Where the trans road has always been flooded during the rainy season,” he said.
The road construction, he said, is to help residents as part of the company's concern for the community. The road has not only been widened but also elevated to a height of 50 to 100 centimeters to prevent water pools during the rainy season.
Previously, the Company had filled the road with stones mixed with sand to increase the structure's durability. "Now it's hardening again to make it better and of higher quality," he concluded. (CM)
